This site is owned and maintained by Fritz Hofmann (Kastl, Germany) and Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold (Brunswick, Maine, USA), who are responsible for its content.
Fritz Hofmann, Peter Hofmann’s younger brother, was born in 1948 and raised in Darmstadt, went on to study percussion and perform in Heeresmusikkorps during his military service. He subsequently worked in Paris for two years in a prestigious artists’ agency, where he learned the music business. In 1980 he assumed the reigns as exclusive manager of his brother career, and for the next twenty years he traveled with Peter Hofmann, sharing adventures on and offstage. Fritz Hofmann maintains the archives of his brother’s career and has created and curates a memorial museum to Peter Hofmann, the Peter Hofmann Room at the Stadtbibliothek in Kemnath.
Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold is a journalist, author, and arts critic, whose works have appeared for the last three decades in international arts publications. Her book, We Need a Hero! Heldentenors from Wagner’s Time to the Present (1989 Weiala Press) remains a major resource text for the study of the heroic singer.
